"Greetings from Romania!"

Well, it has been a long weekend! The entire weekend was spent at the ASTRA open air village museum, working at our table for the "Greetings from Romania" postcard campaign. Long hours, a hot sun, and a beautiful view across the lake of the mountains and buildings. Despite being utterly exausted both days, I had a lot of fun. Another volunteer, Amit, came up from Bucharest for the event, and despite our minimal Romanian, we were able to get over 120 entries for the event. Not too shabby, considering that in the entire event, we had only 15 entries since June 1st, when the competition was originally launched.
It was fun having a buddy in town, too, to hang out with. In two weeks, Amit and another volunteer, Mike, will be in Sibiu for a few days for the Cheese and Brandy Festival. In the meantime, I hope to hang out some with one or two of the Peace Corps volunteers in town. Maybe dinner and a movie or something like that. We'll see.
Well, it looks like it's back to the grindstone for now...still trying to finish up the logistics for the Cheese and Brandy Festival. Fun, fun, fun. Enjoy your day!

You may have missed your calling as a photo journalist. What an amazing photograph!
Ah, my dear, you are too kind! I just happened to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right lighting, with the right subject... :-) You get the picture.
(Ha! Pun not originally intended, but after seeing it in print, it is!)
